St. Petersburg. As a member of the Church and through the Ministries of Mercy, Life and Shelter,

we are responding to God's call in Matthew 25, "We Are Called To Be The Hands Of Jesus." Please feel free to forward this newsletter to your colleagues, friends and family.  

 

During the year 2010, Catholic Charities provided services to over 16,188 individuals and families in the five counties within the Diocese of St. Petersburg. Your support helped to provide 4,047 children and 12,141 adults with Life and Shelter Ministry services.

In 2009, Lori Smith, right, a high school dropout and mother of three grown children, moved to Tampa with hopes of finishing school and starting a new career. However, two weeks after enrollment at Sanford Brown Institute, Lori found herself homeless and without a job or transportation due to a failing marriage of 23 years. "This was a hard time for me because I wanted my marriage to work," Lori explains.

That's because each week, staff and volunteers do their best to accommodate an increasing number of people seeking help.
