Powerful Tools for Caregivers

Caring for a family member or a loved one can be challenging. Your VNA can help navigate these caregiving challenges with Powerful Tools for Caregivers. This six-week course is designed to provide caregivers the tools they need to care for themselves so they can more effectively care for their loved one.

You will learn to:
  • Reduce stress
  • Improve self-confidence
  • Balance your life
  • Better communicate your feelings
  • Increase ability to make tough decisions
  • Locate helpful resources
Classes are led by Carrie Shamel, MSW, VNA social worker for Long-Term Care, and Paula Gallo, LICSW, CVAA Senior Helpline. Both class leaders bring with them their experience and expertise in caring for persons in the home.

This 6-week program will be held at Essex Junction Senior Center,
2 Lincoln Street (at Five Corners), Essex Junction
Thursdays
September 27-November 11, 2012
5:30-7 pm

A donation of $25 is appreciated, but not required. To register, please call 802 658-1900 x3903 or email lecompte@vnacares.org.

New Medical Supply Ordering System

Your VNA has begun a new ordering system for client medical supplies. Not only is the new system more cost efficient, but it also will cut down on supply waste and will insure that the right supplies are available at the right time for VNA clients.
bandages
The new system allows supplies such as bandages and catheters to be ordered by VNA case managers upon admission and throughout the client's course of care. Once ordered from our supply company, McKesson Medical and Surgical, the supplies are delivered directly to the client's home by UPS within 24-48 hours.

If you have any questions about this new ordering process, we would be happy to talk to you. You may ask your clinician or call our main office at 802 658-1900.
