Welcome Judy Peterson
|
The VNA of Chittenden and Grand Isle Counties is pleased to welcome Judy Peterson, RN, who steps into the position of President and CEO of the VNA today. Judy comes to us from the Central Vermont Home Health and Hospice in Berlin, Vermont, where she served for 30 years, including the past five years as the President and CEO. Judy, a life-long Vermonter, received her nursing degree from the University of Vermont.
"I am thrilled to have been selected as the CEO of such a fine organization. I am deeply committed to the not-for-profit VNA mission and am looking forward to working with the dedicated staff of the VNA of Chittenden and Grand Isle Counties to further this mission," says Peterson. "Health Care Reform efforts focus on improving quality while controlling costs. This is exactly what the Vermont VNA system does. Now is the time to advance these valuable home care and hospice services. I feel fortunate to be able to participate in this movement as the leader of an organization like the VNA of Chittenden and Grand Isle Counties." |
Summer Concert on the Green Series
|
Here is an opportunity to hear good music outside on a beautiful summer night and support the VNA at the same time. Every Thursday this summer, until August 23, between 6 and 8:30 pm, Maple Tree Place in Williston features a Concert on the Green. During each week's musical concert, there are free activities for the kids, including face painting and entertainment from Joey the Clown.

G.W. Savage, who is sponsoring the free kids' activities for the second year in a row, is accepting donations for the Vermont Respite House. G.W. Savage will generously match any donations that are collected this summer.
Tim Fortune, Marketing and Community Relations Coordinator for G.W. Savage, explains how this started. "Last summer, people kept asking if they had to pay for the kids' activities, or if they could at least make a donation," he says. "So, we put out a bucket and chose Vermont Respite House as the charity to receive those donations."
At the end of last summer, G.W. Savage decided to match the total donations at the end of the series. This summer, they formalized the match from the beginning.
