VNA Busy With Flu Clinic Season |
The VNA has been busy with its 2011 series of seasonal flu vaccination clinics, which began in the middle of September. Offered for adults ages 18 and older, VNA clinics are held at convenient locations throughout Chittenden and Grand Isle Counties with clinics scheduled through February 2012. Flu shots are always administered by a licensed nurse.
"Getting your flu shot early is the best way to protect yourself and your family from seasonal influenza," says Linda Martinez, RN, manager of VNA Corporate and Community Wellness Programs. "The timing of flu is unpredictable from season to season, but it can begin as early as October."
People with Medicare B or Medicaid can present their cards at a clinic to get the vaccine at no charge. For all others, a fee of $30 will be accepted. Documentation for third party insurers will be provided.
To read more about the flu season and to view a calendar of upcoming flu clinics, please visit www.vnacares.org/flu or call (802) 658-1900. |
