There were 1,167,200 jobs in the Pittsburgh region in July, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The year-over-year job growth rate was 1.5 percent.
Year-over-year, the Pittsburgh region made significant gains in Wholesale Trade, Transportation and Utilities, Financial Activities, Professional and Business Services, and Leisure and Hospitality.
Over the past four years, the job growth rate was 1.4 percent, the highest of any region for the four-year period, and only one other region - Boston - also had a positive job growth rate.
