National spotlight shines on regions job growth

Dear Friend,

Last week the U.S. Chamber of Commerce released a report at its annual Jobs Summit that showed that over the last two years both Pittsburgh and Denver were leading the way in job growth.

The recently released Bureau of Labor Statistics May 2012 job figures confirm that Pittsburgh continues to show an upward trend for job growth. Total nonfarm jobs for May 2012 in the Pittsburgh region was 1,165,300. From May 2008 to May 2012, the region gained 3,400 nonfarm jobs and Pittsburgh saw a 2.91 percent increase in Leisure and Hospitality over the same four-year period.

Leisure and Hospitality, 4-Year Job Growth

Sincerely,
