In addition to the new articles on venture capital, new data on venture capital investment is now available on the PittsburghTODAY web site. Data for the first quarter of 2012 show that total investment dollars are down compared to the same quarter last year but the number of companies receiving funds is up significantly. 

New data on bankruptcy filings is also available. The number of filings in the federal court district that includes Pittsburgh was down over 16 percent in the first quarter of 2012 compared to the same quarter a year ago.
