Dear Friend,
The Pittsburgh Business Times ran a story yesterday about the significant private sector job growth that Pittsburgh has experienced post-recession. The article reported that Pittsburgh had the third highest record in the country for job growth between February 2008 and February 2012 behind Houston and Austin.
Today the Bureau of Labor Statistics released job numbers for March 2012 and they show that Pittsburgh has experienced an even greater increase in private sector job growth. The Pittsburgh region added a total of 14,700 private sector jobs from March 2008 to March 2012.
These figures show that the region is recovering from the recession and performing comparatively stronger than all of our benchmark regions.
Sincerely,
Douglas Heuck
