Marcellus Shale drilling has garnered a great deal of attention from the residents of the region. And over the last three years, the growth of this industry has been significant. From 2009 to 2011, the total number of Marcellus wells drilled across the state of Pennsylvania increased by 168 % and the total number of permits increased by 77 %.
