Highest October Job Figure Ever |
Dear Friend,
Total nonfarm job numbers for the Pittsburgh region in October were the highest level for any October ever. Total nonfarm jobs for the Pittsburgh region were up by 21,800 from October 2010 and up by 36,500 from October 2009. The job growth rate of 1.91 percent was stronger than all benchmark regions except Boston (1.92 percent). Pittsburgh numbers were particularly strong in goods producing, wholesale trade, education and health services, and natural resources, mining and construction.
| The year-over-year job growth rate for the Pittsburgh region was 1.9 percent. |
Several indicators have been updated in our Demographics category with 2010 Census and American Community Survey data, including population, age, race/ethnicity, poverty, immigration, and migration.
Sincerely,
Doug Heuck
