Dear Friend,
New job figures for January 2011 were just released and reveal that the region is recovering from the "Great Recession." The preliminary figures show that jobs increased by 21,300 in January compared to January 2010, a growth rate of 1.95%, the highest of any region. Annual 2010 numbers also show improvement.
We will be updating other Economy indicators in the next couple of weeks, including unemployment and wages. We will also be adding a new Education indicator on high school graduation rates. Stay tuned!
