Our Objective: To serve the needs of its members by strengthening commercial relations between the United States and Uzbekistan.

Washington, D.C.

The American-Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce (AUCC) is grateful for the continued dialogue between the U.S. and Uzbek Government which is manifested in the visit by the U.S. Secretary of State Hillary R. Clinton to Tashkent, Uzbekistan on October 22, 2011.  The AUCC members applaud the visit by such a senior U.S. Government official which is a demonstration of the political will to emphasize the significance that the Republic of Uzbekistan plays in today's arena of international relations.  It is also an expression of the need to maintain the ongoing dialogue between the two countries to support the Northern Distribution Network and the activities aimed at the reconstruction of Afghanistan for enabling peace and stability in the region.

The AUCC and its members have been at the forefront of the U.S. business engagement with the Republic of Uzbekistan since 1993.  Through their long-standing relations, they have expressed deep appreciation to the people of the Republic of Uzbekistan for the opportunities to participate in their industrial and commercial expansion.  All of our members attest that greater bilateral political engagement is of tremendous value to their commercial activities in Uzbekistan and elsewhere in the region.  Ms. Carolyn Lamm, the AUCC Chairperson and one of the founding members of the AUCC said: "For businesses to move forward, it is critically important for them to know that their commercial efforts have a support and understanding by our respective governments.  The U.S. Government support and recognition of the AUCC members' role in promoting bilateral trade gives all our members a competitive edge and ability to be more assertive with their market strategies and policies for Uzbekistan.  Uzbekistan is a strategic security partner but is also an equally important business partner.  The AUCC stands ready to offer its support to expand our governments' cooperation beyond the NDN and keep the momentum post 2014".

The AUCC members would like to reinforce and emphasize to the audiences in the U.S. and Uzbekistan of their willingness and openness to serve as a communications platform on exchange of ideas for stronger commercial cooperation.  According to the AUCC President, Mr. Tim McGraw: "It is important to note that the AUCC members have a high regard and respect by the two governments and utilizing their knowledge and reputation and experience can widen the prospects for our countries' bilateral partnership and collaboration.  The AUCC is a great vehicle for our countries' representatives to work together on a variety of issues that relate to commerce, security, education, healthcare and environment, and we will continue providing our resources for the benefit of the people in the U.S. and Uzbekistan".

Through its events and activities, the AUCC will continue to pursue its mission of improving bilateral trade and investment relations between the U.S. and Uzbekistan.  The AUCC would like to invite other U.S. companies to join our members and become part of our collective efforts in building up stronger support for the U.S. commercial engagement in Uzbekistan.
