Good News folks we are back on track with ArtWalk taking place on the First Friday of the month! The November "edition" of "Corpus Christi First" ..... Schedule for the weekend is : Friday Nov 4th from 5:30 to 9:30pm - ArtWalk Saturday Nov 5th from 9am to 4pm - Marina Market Days Sunday Nov 6th at 9:00am - Bridgewalk Continuing in November: The pilot program of Public Art Tours similar to those conducted during Festival of the Arts. will run again. Please call 361-549-3246 for more info and to book a seat on the tram for November 4th. Update: During ArtWalk evening be sure to hop on the RTA "ArtWalk Express" (RTA Route #79 which will run as a free service between 5:30 & 9pm) and visit the museums in S.E.A. Town which offer free entry to ArtWalkers on ArtWalk night. New for November Desiree's Restaurant, located at 1501 Mesquite in the Seamen's Centre will be displaying art by John Olvey and have music by Joe Green News: Watch out for our TV advert which will run on Ch3, Ch6, and Time Warner Cable during the week leading up to each ArtWalk. There is also a link to the YouTube version on artwalkcc.com Parking: As ArtWalk grows more successful so the process of parking Downtown becomes more of an issue. Laz Parking have agreed to offer a $2 rate on ArtWalk night (also $2 all day Saturday during Marina Market Days) at their 400 block Water Street site next to AKA Sushi. Trivia: On this day in history in 1922 King Tut's tomb was discovered. In 1939, at the 40th National Automobile Show, the first air conditioned car was put on display and in 1991 the first ever gathering of five US Chief Executives took place when the opening of Ronald Reagan's presidential library was attended by President Bush and former presidents Carter, Ford, and Nixon. And the Chic Murray joke of the month:

La Retama Park
La Retama Park is the focal point of ArtWalk. This is where you can obtain free information and maps. It is also where the tram and RTA Express connect and where the prize draw takes place.
- Music in the park on November 4th will be provided by "Get Off the Lawn" from 5:30 until 8:30pm
- There will be a selection of arts and crafts (not resale) vendors open from 5:30pm until 9pm including a food vendor and Uncertain Farms (from Marina Market Days) will be in the park with a selection of jams, fruit & vegetables for sale.
- Maps and flyers are available from the DMD booth, ArtWalk volunteers (wearing orange T-shirts), ArtWalk Ambassadors wearing orange polo shirts, Parking Control Officers on their electric carts, and on the RTA ArtWalk Express. The DTown Tram will also have a supply of maps and an on board Ambassador and of course, HOBO will be there providing their usual brand of Honkadelic entertainment.

To kick things off, we are participating in First Friday ArtWalk and simultaneously hosting our famous 8x10 Exhibit opening on Friday, November 4th from 5-9pm. In addition to ArtWalk, the Art Center is a new "Art Market" location for the ArtWalk vendors! We are so excited to host our local, talented vendors during ArtWalk, so be sure to stop by the Art Center and begin your holiday shopping now! Music by Brad Brown will be playing all night so don't miss the November 4th ArtWalk at the Art Center! With all the excitement and the beginning of Fall, you won't want to miss the big kick-off party celebrating our 39th year in Corpus Christi! S.E.A.Town Enclave
 Corpus Christi Film Society and The SpokesPeople will be presenting the first in a sporadic series of outdoor film screenings entitled "Ride in Theatre" The film this month will be "Raising Arizona" and it will be projected onto the back of the Selena Auditorium starting at 8pm. The RTA "ArtWalk Express" will visit all these locations between 5:30 and 9:30pm so hop on the free transport and check out these amazing locations all of whom are offering FREE entry to ArtWalkers.

CC Film Society and The SpokesPeople present the debut of CC Ride-In Theater. Watch the hilarious Raising Arizona under the stars on the lawn of the CC Watergardens (directly in front of the Art Museum of South Texas). Ride in on your bike, drive in or walk in...just come on in and have a great time. Bring your chair, blanket and cooler. The first 50 attendees get pantyhose to wear on their heads or be sure to bring your own. Ride-In Theater will also be accepting donations of unopened packages of diapers to donate to the Women's Shelter of South Texas CC Watergardens; 8pm-10pmFeaturing a showing of the movie "Raising Arizona" starting at 8pm

Tasks include helping to set up / take down tents in the park, handing out maps / flyers throughout Downtown or on the tram / RTA Express, supervising the kids art area in the park, and many other small but helpful chores.
