Greetings!
The September "edition" of "Corpus Christi First" ..... Schedule for the weekend is : Friday 2nd from 5:30 to 9pm - ArtWalk Saturday 3rd from 9am to 4pm - Marina Market Days Sunday 4th at 9:00am - Bridgewalk without a bridge Continuing in September: The pilot program of Public Art Tours similar to those conducted during Festival of the Arts. will run again for the months of September, and October. There will be 2 tours of Public Art located in the Downtown / S.E.A. Town area each ArtWalk morning. The 9:30am tour will be offered to schools and then at 11am there will be another tour open to the public. Both tours will be docent led and free of charge. Call 361-549-3246 for more info and to book a seat on the tram. During ArtWalk evening be sure to hop on the RTA "ArtWalk Express" and visit The Art Museum of South Texas, The Science and History Museum, and the Museum of Asian Cultures all of which offer free entry to ArtWalkers on ArtWalk night. On this day in history in 1666, a bakery in Pudding Lane caught fire and gave rise to the Great Fire which decimated the City of London, England. In 1969 we were treated to the introduction of ATM's. The first of its' kind being installed in New York only gave out cash; it could not sing and dance like the ATM's of today! Also in 1969, in a decision which might be termed Not the Brightest Conclusion, NBC cancelled the TV series Star Trek which regardless, continues its mission: To explore strange new worlds... To seek out new life; new civilisations... To boldly go where no one has gone before - to this day! A bit like ArtWalk really. And the Chic Murray joke of the month which I know you await eagerly:
"I dreamt I was forced to eat 25lbs of marshmallows. When I woke up, my pillow was missing"
