First Friday ArtWalk Newsletter
April 1st
04/2011
Greetings!

The March ArtWalk was a big success with high numbers count of 400 people out to get their ArtWalk fix after the canceled February event. Let's make the April ArtWalk even more successful; come on Downtown and bring all your friends with you because there is something for everyone on ArtWalk night.

The Art Museum, which came on board  in spirit last ArtWalk will be open to the public this month - details below. Other good news is that the  Museum of Science & History and the Museum of Asian Cultures will be joining the "over I37" enclave with effect from the May event (or possibly June if we cannot find a way to navigate around Buc Days) and the RTA ArtWalk Express will connect them to Central Downtown However, see below for Art Museum participation in April.

April 1st is traditionally a day of pranks and jolly japes perpetrated on the unsuspecting and gullible public. That being said we are proud to announce that Charlie Sheen will be in La Retama Park with CBS and Warner Bros TV top executives, who have all forgiven his  recent excesses, and will be announcing their next collaboration - or will they?

See you in the park.

  • There is no charge to attend and the RTA ArtWalk Express will be including the museum in its' route between 6:30pm and 9pm.

We are always looking for volunteers to help out on ArtWalk nights. Tasks include helping to set up / take down tents in the park, handing out maps / flyers throughout Downtown or on the tram / RTA Express, supervising the kids art area in the park, and many other small but helpful chores.
So if you would like to help please give Alan (361-463-8148) or Michelle (361-887-6834) a call.
Sincerely,
Alan Albin
