Thursday, August 16, 2012 Small Businesses and Green Products and Technologies On August 16-17, Cedar Valley College in Lancaster, TX will host its first Green Conference and Expo, sponsored by LB Team, LLC and the Greater Dallas & North Central Texas Urban League. the Green Conference & Expo will encourage attendees, speakers and exhibitors to learn, network and share information about opportunities that the new green economy offers and the sustainability efforts currently underway. Kicking things off for this exciting event during his Thursday, August 16 broadcast of Biz Talk With Josh Smith on CBS Radio - host Josh Smith will feature a live panel of participants at the Conference who will share their insights and knowledge regarding the allure of green products and technologies with the small business community. Josh's guests will be Mr. Michael C. Biggs, Sr., President, LB Team, who works with various levels of government to develop and implement social programs into a business model to achieve training, integration of "Green Technology", and creation of wide-spread business opportunities; Dr. Jennifer Wimbush, President of Cedar Valley College and author of dozens of articles - the most recent of which is featured on the Sustainability Education & Economic Development (SEED) website and highlights community colleges as innovators in the sustainability sector; Dr. Beverly Kerl Mitchell-Brooks, who has utilized her advanced degree in molecular biology-chemistry to serve as an environmental specialist with the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), taught at several universities, and is currently president/CEO of the Dallas Urban League; and Mr. Kevin Myles, US General Services Administration (GSA) Energy/Sustainability Officer and an attorney by profession who practiced litigation, energy, natural resources, oil and gas and environmental law in Denver, Colorado for many years.
