Biz Talk With Josh Smith
Thursday, July 5, 2012 The Affordable Care Act and Its Impact on Small Businesses Last week, the Supreme Court upheld the Affordable Care Act and affirmed the government's authority to ensure health care for all - and health care is a major area of concern -- not only for all Americans individually, but also for small businesses. American entrepreneurs start-up, grow and expand their businesses, creating jobs and improving the economy. Biz Talk With Josh listeners want to know: Does the Court's affirmation of the Affordable Care Act help or hurt small businesses? In a series of shows during the month of July, Josh Smith will interview officials from the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) "The Voice of Small Business," along with officials from The White House, SBA and other small business advocacy groups so that they can share their opinions on this critical topic with you.
To kick things off, tune in this Thursday when Josh will host NFIB Vice President of Media and Communications, Ms. Jean Card, and NFIB California Executive Director, Mr. John Kabateck. Ms. Card has worked in four departments of the executive branch of the federal government: the Departments of Labor, Treasury and Justice, as well as the SBA, was a PR official and a small business owner. Mr. Kabateck served as Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's director of external affairs, and was also with the California Restaurant Association, first as its vice president for recruitment and placement and later as its senior legislative director.
