Maryland Comptroller, Secretary, Department of Business and Economic Development, and Special Secretary, Governor's Office of Minority Affairs Discuss Small Business Issues with Josh Smith
It takes top government executives to keep Maryland at the forefront of so many categories among its sister states, and Josh Smith will bring three of these officials to his listening audience this Thursday.
On September 29, Josh Smith has the pleasure of hosting the Comptroller of Maryland, Peter V.R. Franchot. Mr. Franchot is the chief financial officer and collector of revenue for the state. His office is responsible for providing information technology services for most state agencies and regulating the state's alcohol, tobacco and motor fuel industries. They will be joined by Mr. Christian S. Johansson, Secretary, Department of Business and Economic Development (DBED). Secretary Johansson is responsible for overseeing Maryland's nearly 250-employee business agency and its $85.6 million budget. Josh will also be joined by Special Secretary Luwanda W. Jenkins of the Governor's Office of Minority Affairs (GOMA). Special Secretary Jenkins is responsible for coordinating Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) Program accountability activities with over 60 State Agencies while working with Maryland's business community to expand opportunities for minority and women-owned firms.
