Fernando V. Galaviz began his entrepreneurial journey over 40 years ago and in 1988 founded The CENTECH Group, Inc, where today he serves as CEO and president. #34 among the top 500 Hispanic-owned companies in America; and #2 among the top 15 Hispanic-owned firms in Virginia -- CENTECH supplies the public and private sectors with a range of products and services in logistics, technology, program management, and engineering and manufacturing.
Diagnosed with a visual impairment at the age of 11 doctors told young Fernando that he would be blind by the age of 16 - but they were wrong. Although after two surgeries he remains visually impaired, he has not entirely lost his sight. A firm believer in giving back - among his many community activism projects, Fernando Galaviz is working with the ENDependence Center of Northern Virginia to establish a website geared to helping people with disabilities find work in the mainstream workforce. In addition, Fernando is a strong national proponent of civil rights and economic development for minorities, and Chairman of the National Federal Contractor's Association (NaFCA), a national advocacy association collaborating with policy makers and other trade groups to protect the interests of small businesses in the federal marketplace.
On Thursday April 14th, please join Host Joshua Smith and Mr. Fernando V. Galaviz as they discuss small businesses and the Federal government marketplace, and recent changes and challenges to this vital sector of American business.
