Are you using an iPad for your small business?

iPads are the hottest tech gadget on the market today. A cross between a laptop and a smart phone, the iPad grants users the ability to reach all of their digital content through the web or apps. Instead of busy professionals lugging their laptops across a busy airport, professionals can avoid the boot time and send emails while waiting in line to board the plane.
Coupling an iPad and a desktop can be an ideal solution rather than buying both a laptop and a desktop. Users would perform most of their heavy work on their desktop, and use their iPad while on the move. They can access their desktops remotely as well.
The purposes the iPad can serve are numerous. For example a municipal government in North Carolina purchased iPads for several county staff. Rather than printing and sifting through hundreds of pages of documents, users can easily access their documents without all the clutter and lost trees. However, it is not a solution for everyone. The operating system is entirely "app" driven. Unless there is an app available, users cannot simply install programs they need. As an alternative, the HP Slate has added flexibility.
Businesses looking at this type of scenario would need to analyze their needs in order to ensure that the iPad is a good fit. If it can meet the organization's business requirements, this quick mobile device could increase mobility in more ways than one.
