Greetings!

The 2012 AAW symposium will be held in San Jose this June 8-10. In addition to the regular symposium activities, the Professional Outreach Program (POP) sponsors several activities designed to encourage and promote members who seek to push their professionalism to the next level.POP logo

Each year, the POP provides an opportunity for four individuals to be featured as "Emerging Artists." The intent of this program is to provide the opportunity within the AAW membership for Emerging Artists who POP believes have the potential to become significant contributors to the field of woodturning. Candidates are selected from the membership through a rigorous jurying process by the committee. The selected artists will be given space to create work on site and in front of conference attendees, where they can discuss their methods and intent in producing their art. They also are provided display space in a gallery setting for their finished work.

The Emerging Artists who will be featured in San Jose are David Earle, Rudolph Lopez, Elizabeth Lundburg, and Lynne Yamaguchi. Please join us in San Jose for the AAW 26th Annual International Symposium to congratulate this year's Emerging Artists.
