| Institute Leadership Team Elected | |
At the 2011 Institute Chapter delegates elected the Institute Leadership Team which will serve from 2011-2017. Pictured: front l-r Sister Patricia McDermott, President, and Sisters Deborah Troillett, and Eileen Campbell, Vice-President - back: Sisters Anne Curtis and Mary Pat Garvin. 
Sister Pat McDermott has been serving as the ILT liaison to the Network for Mercy Education Board. The Network is grateful to Sister Pat for her years of commitment and service.
In aligning responsibilities, the newly elected team has decided that Sister Deborah Troillett will assume this liaison role. The Network welcomes Sister Deborah and looks forward to working with her.

| 2011 Mercy Education Leadership Academy | |
In Manchester, New Hampshire on July 20-21, forty-six Mercy educators gathered for the 17th annual Mercy Education Leadership Academy.
Committed to furthering Mercy education, these leaders gathered for input, dialogue, prayer, and sharing. Please click on this link to read more about the academy and see pictures.
The Network thanks all who attended and all who made the academy possible with their support. The 2012 Leadership Academy will be held July 25-26, 2012 with the site to be determined. Location will be shared in an upcoming newsletter and on the Network website.

Mercy Learning Online Summer 2011 |
Three hundred seventy-seven students from 19 Mercy secondary schools completed over 440 courses in Mercy Learning Online Summer 2011. The Network thanks the Mercy Learning Online teachers whose commitment, creativity and hard work has assisted so many young women and men. Students demonstrated ability, knowledge and growth in the content studied and in the skill and discipline of online learning. This valuable tool, it is believed, will serve them well in their post secondary studies.
The Network thanks all the schools currently participating in the program and welcomes new schools for Summer 2012. This will be the 10th summer of the program!

| 2011 MSEC Conference | | The 30th annual Mercy Secondary Education Conference w
ill be hosted by Mother McAuley High School in Chicago and held October 14-15, 2011.
The theme of the conference is "Celebrating Mercy Collaboration in the City That Works".
The brochure for the conference with the program and hotel information is posted on the Network website and has been sent to all schools.
The registration forms are requested by September 20th.

| October President and Principal Meeting | |
The annual meeting affords Mercy secondary and elementary administrators an opportunity to gather, share insights into common issues and support one another. 2011 meeting will be held October 13, 2011.
The focus for the meeting is a meditative gathering, presentation on a theme, business affairs and a prayerful closing. The Meditative gathering Catherine McAuley "Always Being Called to the More" (Familiar Instructions, will be presented by Avis Clendenen, D.Min.,Ph.d., and Professor Sister Irene Dugan, r.c. Scholar in Spirituality, Department of Religious Studies, Saint Xavier University.
The items for the business section of the gathering have been sent to Mercy secondary and elementary administrators. A reminder that the RSVP for the meeting is requested by September 20, 2011. Please RSVP to the Network.
