Dear Member,We are now less than three weeks away from the start of construction on the pool, and under five weeks away from the start of the tennis court project. We sent a letter in early July with a letter sent to your home (view here) regarding the pool construction time line and the financing start dates. Today, we have news to share on the tennis court side of things. - Courts 1-4 will be closed for resurfacing and upgrades starting on Tuesday, September 6. We anticipate that these four courts will be unplayable for up to eight weeks. The work on these four courts will include the following:
- Resurfacing with a slipsheet under layer system designed to minimize future cracks, and a top layer of Plexicushion Prestige with blue and green paint.
- The fencing on these courts will be repaired/replaced and the color will be changed to black.
- New windscreens will be installed.
- New net posts will be installed.
- Drainage will be installed that will minimize future cracks in the court surface.
- Courts 5-9 will be resurfaced in late summer, 2012. We are doing the courts in two phases so we do not close all nine courts at once and therefore minimize the impact on members. Additionally, we chose August to avoid possible rain delays that we could encounter in the spring.
During tennis court resurfacing, we will set up court usage guidelines that differ from our typical schedules. Captains and league players will receive this information soon. Recreational players should be prepared for more congestion during September and October. If you have any questions or want to learn more, please feel free to contact General Manager Ariel Shakeshaft at 456-5522, or you may connect with your Board of Directors. The next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, August 24 at 6pm. Thank you, RRC Board of Directors
