|Sen. Landrieu and Boysie Bollinger Draw Overflow Crowd to BIG|
The Bayou Country Club dining room was packed to capacity on July 9 as a record crowd of BIG members and guests attended the luncheon to hear presentations by Sen. Mary Landrieu and industry leader Boysie Bollinger.
Sen. Landrieu discussed the RESTORE Act, which was signed by the President just days before the BIG luncheon, and also accepted Restore or Retreat's Pelican Award for her work to secure dedicated federal funding for coastal restoration in Louisiana. Mr. Bollinger, himself a vocal advocate for coastal restoration and protection, commended the work of Sen. Landrieu and all of our Congressional delegation for RESTORE Act passage. In his presentation, Bollinger also talked about the tremendous contributions of Bayou Region workers and businesses to the nation's economy when it comes to the marine, energy, and seafood industries, and recognized BIG for its leadership in the community for over three decades.
Thank you to both speakers for sharing their time with BIG, and thank you to all of our members and guests who attended this very special meeting!

|BIG Congratulates NSU Scholarship Recipient Alli Berthelot|
As if our July luncheon was not "BIG" enough with Sen. Landrieu and Boysie Bollinger at the podium, the organization also recognized another young person selected to receive a 2012 BIG Scholarship.
Alli Berthelot, a 2012 graduate of Assumption High School who will be majoring in Accounting at NSU this fall, was presented with our organization's 4-year scholarship to NSU at the July 9 luncheon. Congratulations to Alli and her mother Shinelle for this outstanding achievement!
