Happy New Year!

Chinese New Year that is...

Greetings!

As Phnom Penh is being set on fire with sacrifices to the ancestors as well as fireworks, we wanted to take a moment to update all our friends and family as to how our 2012 has started. We began this year with a fresh vision from our time in the States and clear direction that it was time to take things to the next level. That has happened at a remarkable speed since our return.

God's Answer to Prayer!answers

In our last newsletter you we shared of our need for new housing. As our leases on both properties expired, we arrived in Cambodia with our feet running to find new facilities. A new large facility was found first. This four-story home (two levels/two mezzanines) is now housing the International Orphan Aid offices, School of the Nations, and the Benz family as well as having four private rooms available for volunteers and interns or guests and kitchenette facilities for guests.

New housing was also found that allowed us to place the Bykota girls and the Bykota Littles in one house with the Bykota boys in another. God blessed us greatly in that the girls' home was found first and we thought the boys were going to be separated from us by several blocks. One week before the move, the house RIGHT NEXT DOOR TO THE GIRLS became available and within an hour we had papers signed! So we are now only doors apart from each other! Praise the Lord!

One added bonus of the girl's house is that it is large enough that a portion is to be set up as the new Preschool.

God has provided the space -

God has provided the resources -

     God has provided the preschoolers...

we now wait in expectant faith that God will also provide the preschool teacher.

Hope with Rhonda
Faith is being sure of what we hope for. It is being certain of what we do not see.                         Hebrews 11:1

We are happy to introduce the newest member of our Bykota House family, Songkum. Songkum's name translates in Khmer to mean "hope." Little Hope comes to us from a very serious at-risk situation. We were contacted by another ministry who was turned away from many other organizations as they sought emergency placement for Hope. As our friends and families know, our answer to precious little ones in true need of help is always "yes." Hope's rejection from the other organizations was due to the fact that she struggles with cerebral palsy just as our Tina and Sok Chea.
                                   Welcome, Hope!

Prayer Pointsprayer

Pray as we continue to get settled and to equip, as we have taken one home and divided it between two. Many equipping needs continue to be discovered daily.

Pray for more volunteers and specifically for an intern to be brought for the preschool.

Pray for Hope's adjustment as well as all the Bykota children as we start back to school and try to find our new routine.

Thank you all for your faithful and consistent prayer and financial support!

Until next time from Cambodia,

Mark and Rhonda and family
