Aspire Academic Coaching LLC Summer Calendar
Greetings!
As you already know, Aspire Academic Coaching LLC is a small individualized academic support
service. We focus on science and math and standardized test prep. We
have had amazing success - not only allowing students to succeed in
school, but to fall in love with math and science and excel.
This summer, AAC is pairing up with Congressional School in Falls Church. We are hosting several academic enrichment classes to keep students on their toes and ready to start school in September with a BANG!!
We are offering many classes as you can see below, but if there is a class that you'd like that is not being offered, please contact me and we will do everything we can to accommodate your needs.

FCPS Credited Algebra 1
| June 28 - August 5 (no classes July 2 or July 5) 9am - 3pm $850 - includes lunch, snacks, and transportation St James School (804 W. Broad St. Falls Church)
Students
will learn how to see and understand the relationship between algebra,
arithmetic, geometry, discrete mathematics, and probability and
statistics. Cross curricular connections will be continuously used
throughout this course to show the importance and necessity of algebra.
Much attention will be given to students, through the use of manipulatives and
graphing calculators, to develop concepts should help students understand and
grasp abstract mathematical ideas. Throughout this course, students will
be required to use the language of algebraic mathematics - both verbally and
symbolically - to communicate and discuss problems and the problem solving
methods. At the end of this course, all students will have confidence in
their abilities to move forward in higher levels of math with ease. Register for this class!

Advanced Pre-Physics
| July 27, 28, 29 August 3, 4, 5 9am - 11:45am $350 St James School (804 W. Broad St. Falls Church) This course is intended for students
entering a rigorous physics course in the school year of 2010 -2011. Students will gain confidence in their
mathematic abilities and learn the problem solving tools needed to succeed in an
honors physics class. Register for this class!

Pre AP Biology
| July 27, 28, 29 August 3, 4, 5 12:15pm - 3pm $350 St James School (804 W. Broad St Falls Church)
This course is intended for students who'd like to proceed into AP Biology in the school
year of 2010 - 2011 and would like a stronger biology background. This course will not only cover and really
dive into the basics of biology, but will teach students how to read and
understand complex materials more efficiently and effectively. Register for this class!

Academic Enrichment Camp for 4th-6th Graders St James School Location (804 W. Broad St Falls Church) Transportation is provided through Congressional School

Law June 28 - July 9 (no classes on July 5) 9am - 11:45am
This
course will introduce students to practical information
and problem-solving skills to better understand basic legal
concepts and to analyze legal problems. Students will examine criminal law, juvenile justice, torts, consumer and family
law. Students will review case studies, create mock trials and role-plays in
order to fully understand the laws that govern them. Register for this class!
Busted,
Confirmed, or Plausible June 28 - July 9 (no classes on July 5) 12:15pm - 3pm
Working in teams, participants in this course will have the opportunity to emulate some of the classic (and
safe) investigations shown on the popular television show "MythBusters". Teams
can also choose to investigate "myths" of their own (with instructor approval)
as they learn the fundamentals of experimental design in a fun and engaging
way. The ideas initiated during this summer program can potentially be used for
science fair requirements during the school year. Register for this class!
Math
and Baseball July 12 - July 23 9am - 11:45am
This class will use case studies and
exercises applying statistical and probabilistic thinking to the game of
baseball. Baseball is the most statistical of all sports, since players are
identified and evaluated by their corresponding hitting and pitching
statistics. There is an active effort by people in the baseball community to
learn more about baseball performance and strategy by the use of statistics. This class will evaluate how the use of
statistics enhances the strategy of the game. Register for this class!
Monsters July 12 - July 23 9am - 11:45amThis course will dive into a collection of some of the most famous and bizarre paranormal phenomena from Area 51 crop circles and the Bermuda Triangle to Bigfoot, the Mongolian Death Worm and the Loch Ness Monster. Students will research and see how these oddities have impacted society and how they have been used to explain strange occurrences in nature. Register for this class!
