Bailey Turns 2

Bailey, our Brittany Spaniel, just turned two in June. Our efforts to train him not to launch his 45 pound frame into your lap and eat your food have met with mixed results.  His first love remains birds followed by tennis balls, food, and people

Vineyard Update

Our vineyard is doing well this year, but we continue to battle the Japanese Beetles and lack of rainfall.  Our vineyard is at veraison. Veraison is a viticulture term meaning the change of color of the grape berries. Veraison represents the transition from berry growth to berry ripening.

We're watering the vineyard and including an organic fertilizer (fish emulsion). The only drawback to using it, is every farm cat in the area started stalking me after applying it.  We plan to begin netting this weekend to protect the grapes from birds.

July Wine Club Meeting, July 23rd (7pm)

Our next Wine Club meeting is scheduled for Friday, July 23rd at 7pm.  Our food challenge is to bring a dish that includes seasonal vegetables or fruit.  We plan to discuss buying grapes, entering wine in the SEMO fair, and will assist first time winemakers in starting a fruit wine.

Ourdoor Movies Beginning in September

Beginning in September, we are extending our Friday evening hours and will show outdoor movies for our customers.

Meadow Heights 20 Year Reunion

We had the privilege or hosting the Meadow Heights High School Reunion (Class of 1990). Our winery has never looked better than it did after being decorated by the committee. It was also a great opportunity for us to meet a new group of wonderful people. When your 25th reunion comes around, keep us in mind!
