 So once again, it's time to celebrate the big fat cranberry of Vermont Cranberry Company.
Size does matter-as does the sorting-and Cranberry Bob
meticulously sorts his average 30,000 pound harvest and ships only the biggest and best for the local marketplace. They're meatier and pack more flavor than their southern counterparts and harvest only lasts a few weeks. It's amazing to think all those berries come from a farm with only 3 acres of bogs.
Bob Lesnikoski's claim to fame is the bounce. As he discussed in one of our favorite blogs, FarmPlate, a bouncy cranberry is the best cranberry. And 60% of his bouncy cranberries get loaded and shipped to specialty markets like WFM every fall. We sell hundreds of pounds of Bob's cranberries every year...they truly are that much better than your regular run of the mill Ocean Spray.
It's not too early to stock pile these babies because we usually run out by the 15th of November or so. They freeze well-so throw several bags into the freezer now so you're ready for Thanksgiving-which is only 4 weeks away. Bob's cranberries are available online too!
