Pure Vermont Maple Syrup
Woodstock Farmers' Market Pure Vermont Maple Syrup is made right down the road from us by Maplecrest Farm in Woodstock, Vermont. This 100 acre family farm has been in operation since 1946 and is filled with spectacular views and woodlands. Ned Macksoud has been making syrup for us for years and it all has the Seal of Quality from the Vermont Agency of Agriculture.
WFM's Pure Vermont Maple Syrup is considered a Vermont Grade A Medium Amber. Ever wonder what the story is behind the grading system?
Maple Syrup Colors and Grades
Fancy - The lightest syrup, made from the first run of sap in the spring. Delicate and sweet with the lightest flavor. You won't find fancy outside of the state of Vermont. Grade A Medium Amber - Slightly darker color. It has a more pronounced maple flavor than the Fancy. Grade A Dark Amber - You guessed it, much darker in color and a stronger maple flavor than the Medium Amber. Grade B - The darkest maple syrup out there, with the strongest maple flavor of all. It is best for cooking and baking, but is still great on pancakes!
One thing to consider when you notice the price of pure maple syrup; it takes over 30 gallons of maple tree sap to create a single gallon of syrup! Once you have had the real thing, nothing else will do.
