American Institute for Technology
and Science Education End of Year Newsletter

December,
2010
Greetings!
Thank you so much for all your help and encouragement during 2010. It is a fact that American Institute for Technology and Science Education, which gained nonprofit status just this year, could not function without your support. We have accomplished a lot in 2010, and this is because faithful people like you have stepped up to financially support this important work. Below are some AITSE highlights for 2010. We have come a long way in assuming a strategic place for effecting change in 2011!

Website
nautilus
Those of you who have been with us for the entire year will know that in January of last year we did not have an AITSE website. Since then, M PLUS BG. LLC helped design and post a site that went up in the summer. Mr. Mario Lopez and Mr. Frits Evenbly have been working on it ever since. It is not yet complete, but is now a wonderful resource for information on 1) AITSE, our history, mission and vision, 2) Dr. Crocker, her resume, publications, and press attention, 3) Our events, complete with recordings and videos, 4) Our contact information along with a list of possible presentations, 5) Educational resources, including important links, planned books with sample chapters, and a link to Free to Think, and 6) Member updates with articles of interest contributed by Dr. Crocker and members of the scientific consortium.

In the News
Crocker on CBN
American Institute for Technology and Science Education has been in the news this year, with radio and TV interviews as well as magazine and newspaper articles. Included in these were a press conference at the Los Angeles Press Club, a legislative briefing in the US Capitol Building sponsored by Louie Gohmert, an appearance on CBN TV, and numerous radio interviews. In addition, Dr. Crocker gave numerous lectures on topics related to scientific integrity. Links to the audio or video files for most of the above are available under events on the AITSE website.

Publication
One of our biggest goals for 2010 was publication of Free to Think: Why Scientific Integrity Matters. This book was published by Dr. Crocker on July 4, 2010, and is a gripping personal story with immense public application. Outlining the events that led to Dr. Crocker losing both her job and her legal representation after a cheating student falsely accused her of teaching creationism, Free to Think ends with a call to action for the public. Despite no longer being available on Amazon, this book continues to sell and to make the case for scientific integrity in our nation. Get your copy here!

Consortium
As AITSE has grown, we have attracted the attention of more and more scientists, physicians and engineers interested in helping us to raise the profile of scientific integrity in this nation. As such, we are planning several events in 2011: a conference for these consortium members where scientific ideas can be shared and presented to the public, a meeting for those members of the consortium specifically interested in developing scientific integrity curricula, and as many presentations, radio, TV and other interviews as possible. For this, we need your help. If you have contacts with a university, church, or other group, consider inviting Dr. Crocker to give a presentation. Spread the word! Together we can make a difference.

Once again, thank you for your interest and support. As you can see we have made much progress, but to continue and expand the work, we need your help. As you plan your year-end giving, please consider making a contribution to AITSE. Lack of scientific integrity, seen in cheating in school and beyond, problems with pharmaceutical publishing, and censorship of scientists and professors who think outside the box--that is, control of science by politics, finances, and ideology--threatens our health, prosperity, and intellectual prowess as a nation. You can be instrumental in reversing this trend. Partner with us!

Sincerely,

Caroline Crocker, MSc, PhD
