Da Go Te' Everyone!
This month is a time to remember and honor the Mothers in our lives. Some were not our birth mothers but were our mothers just the same, others were our grandmothers actively doing the mothers job in our lives, and then there were the birth mothers. All these women deserve to be honored and remembered. In the indian way the woman could create life as Creator did and so was greatly honored because of this. The different stages of the womans life was celebrated and initiation ceremonies preformed to honor each stage. During the moontime as they would go into the womans lodge to rest and rejuvinate during the moontime they had profound profetic dreams that would help the tribe know how to move forward, where to go, etc. And as grandmothers their wisdom was sought for final say in all tribal matters.
We even have our Earth Mother so dont forget to honor her as well during this time.
Take a minute to look around to find an single mom, a grandma that is alone, and bring joy to them by honoring them in some way on this day so they are not forgotten! it will bless you more than you know!!
We all have so much to be thankful for and to have these wonderful Mothers all around us is another reason to be thankful and to show them and tell them so!
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY to all mothers!!
Ukehe (thank you), for your presence in my life, your hearts, and your path of Beauty!

WORDS FROM THE COUNCIL
Young people must return to the elders, to the grandmothers and grandfathers of their families. Return to them to learn, listen, care for. So that they can remember who they are............. One cannot move into the future until the past is fully known. It is the old people that cary this knowlege. So parents teach your children to respect these with so much wisdom and to never forget to care for them also. In so doing you and they will bring blessings to all. Pinu Ashne Ate'
