Turner Marine Celebrates 50 years |
50 year Milestone Reached
October, 2009 was the anniversary for three generations of the Turner family in the boating business. This is a considerable feat in today's boating world and our celebration of this event focused on Mrs. Kathy Turner and Mr. Prince Turner Jr., the founders of Turner Marine. Beginning in Montgomery, Alabama in 1959 Turner expanded to the Gulf-Coast in 1973. Having handled a variety of sailboats including Sunfish, Columbia, Pearson, Hunter, Endeavour and many more, they were ideally suited to establish a repair yard and marina facility. The current line of boats including Island Packet, Catalina and Ranger Tugs are some of the most popular in the industry. The tradition lives on with the third generation of Turners, so Thank You very much to our customers for continued support! | |

Catalina 375 delivered this week!
(click our logo for more informaion)
Joanna and I had another pleasurable week with the delivery of our 2009 Catalina 375, which always leads to the best part of being a sailboat broker, getting to sail! The morning looked dead calm but as we cleared the Dog River bridge, the winds introduced themselves from the southeast at 12 knots and the sailing was great. We put the 375 through all points of sail with Rod and Elizabeth both at the helm cruising around at 5 and 6 knots with a nice grin on their face. What a fun boat! We have a 50 Ton Marine Travelift coming soon. It should be operational in early 2010 and will give us much needed ability to handle vessels to 100,000 lbs for their repair, survey or storage needs.
Aside from our long time skills in sailing yachts sales, service and storage, we now have multiple 1st class outside contractors on site....Fiber Plastics, Island Canvas, Davison Marine (marine diesel specialists) and others, all of whom are long time proven resources for first class warrantable marine repairs and installations.
