"CHANGE For Haiti" - Continuing through Friday!

On January 12, 2010, a massive earthquake struck the nation of Haiti, causing catastrophic damage inside and around the capital city of Port-au-Prince. President Obama has promised the people of Haiti that "you will not be forsaken; you will not be forgotten." 
 
This week at Loma Vista, the PTO will be partnering with the Student Council with "CHANGE For Haiti."  We will be collecting money through Friday to make a donation for Haiti to the American Red Cross. 
 
Our small change can make a big difference for the hundreds of thousands of people affected by this crisis.

Soles4Souls - A Gently Used Shoe Drive For Haiti
 
Loma Vista is joining area schools in a community wide shoe drive to collect gently used shoes for the people of Haiti.  On Thursday and Friday of this week, we invite you to bring in your outgrown shoes for Soles4Souls, a charitable group working to support the people of Haiti.   Sport Chalet has offered to ship all the shoes we collect to a Soles4Souls distribution center along with their own shipment of shoes. We are able to save this shipping cost by taking advantage of their shipping!
 
So, if your family has shoes in your closets that you no longer need or use, please condsider donating them to this worthy cause.  There will be a box for donations in front of the office and our own Tessa Strickland will be taking the donated shoes to the collection center on Saturday morning!
