The Mark Minute: Del Mar Supports Veterans!
 | | President Mark Escamilla, Ph.D. |
I'm sending you this special edition of What's New, What's Next to tell you about important milestones demonstrating Del Mar College's commitment to veterans, active military and their families.
G.I. Jobs has included Del Mar College in it's list of Military Friendly Schools for 2012, placing us in the top 20% of all colleges, universities and trade schools nationwide. See our listing.
Congressman Blake Farenthold will host the 2011 Coastal Bend Veterans Summit on Friday, October 21, 11:30am - 5:30pm at Richardson Performance Hall and Harvin Student Center, Del Mar College East. Join us to celebrate a legacy of proud military services, renew old acquaintances and form new ones. This Summit will provide comprehensive information regarding federal and state benefits and managing the challenges veterans of all ages and service branches face today. Registration is free for all veterans and current members of the armed forces.
Veterans Summit Registration and Information For more information, email Christopher Lawrence or call (361) 884-2222. As part of this event, Del Mar College will proudly open the doors of our new Veterans Services Office and announce our future Student Veterans Center. The ribbon-cutting will take place on October 21 at 11am in Harvin Student Center, first floor lobby.
The Veterans Services Office will offer a complete business center for all military, veterans and their dependents enrolling at Del Mar College, with information specific to all military student benefits, enrollment, advising/registration, and more.
The Student Veterans Center (West Campus) will double as a place for our military students to gather, meet and socialize as well as house our campus office of the United Service Organizations (USO).
Military Admissions at Del Mar College provides further information on enrollment options for active military, veterans and dependents.
We hope that you will join us in celebrating and renewing Del Mar College's commitment to those who serve and sacrifice for our country.
