I'm Dr. Mark Escamilla,
President of Del Mar College, and I'd like to tell you about exciting things happening right now:

Fall Enrollment

Preliminary numbers are in! A record 12,175 students enrolled for Fall classes as of the end of the first class day on August 30.

This milestone would not have been possible without our first-ever, 24-hour Round the Clock Registration Rally held in Harvin Student Center. Major thanks are due to the teamwork demonstrated by our Admissions and Financial Aid personnel, Counseling, faculty, staff and volunteers who "camped out" to give our students every possible opportunity to sign up for classes.

The Rally was a major event, featuring a full slate of student services, refreshments, prizes, live music, radio remotes, and more.

Of course, the real heroes are the students themselves, some of whom dropped by before the sun came up to get registered for Fall classes.

750,000th Registrant

Once registration wraps up, I'll draw one name from among all twelve thousand students registered for Fall. That lucky student will receive a prize package including full tuition and fees for the Spring semester, a laptop computer, and maybe best of all, a reserved parking space for Spring!

Thank you, good luck, and have a great Fall semester!
