MARK MINUTE

President Mark Escamilla photo

I'm Dr. Mark Escamilla,
President of Del Mar College, and I'd like to tell you about exciting things happening right now:

Del Mar College will celebrate a time of renewal at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 13, by holding an Open House and Rededication of the renovated St. Clair Building on the East Campus. I invite you to join the College and the Corpus Christi Independent School District for this event to see how your tax dollars have given this facility a new purpose.

Our celebration will highlight a tour of the College's new Student Success Center, which has already impacted many DMC students through their services, learning resources and workshops to ensure success. The facility also houses the College's Peer Tutoring Office, Supplemental Instruction Office and a variety of rooms and equipment to help hardworking students get the most out of their study time.

You will also have an opportunity to tour the Collegiate High School, a collaboration between DMC and CCISD that allows students to not only complete their high school education but also earn an associate's degree or credits toward a baccalaureate degree. And this year marks the first group of high school freshman through seniors attending the Texas Education Agency's designated "Recognized School" at the same time.

I look forward to seeing you April 13 as a new era of instruction and success fill the halls of the St. Clair Building.
