Victor Treviño is following his dream to become a medical doctor. The 2005 Del Mar College graduate, who earned an Associate in Science degree in biology, chose his path while growing up in Ingleside.

Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, CC Symphony Headline "Come Home" Event


Tickets are now on sale for Swing Into Scholarships, the 2009 Come Home to DMC concert with swing band Big Bad Voodoo Daddy and the Corpus Christi Symphony Orchestra! Tickets available online and through the Richardson Performance Hall Box Office from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays.

Individual tickets range from $15 for students with a valid Del Mar College I.D. (limit four), to $250 for premium tickets including a reception and dinner scheduled before the performance. (Service charges will be applied upon purchase of tickets.) Questions related to tickets should be directed to the Box Office at 361-698-2226.

Sugar Art Showcase

During Del Mar College's Sugar Art Showcase and Demonstration, scheduled Oct. 24-25, the public can view how these artists work their magic and even get their own hands a little "sugary" under the instruction of FOOD NETWORK Cake Challenge Champion Michelle Bommarito--who has won one gold and two silver medals--and challenger Edward Fry, along with other pastry chefs.

I'm Dr. Mark Escamilla,
President of Del Mar College, and I'd like to tell you about exciting things happening right now:

Dr. Fernando Figueroa, currently Dean of University Studies at Tyler Junior College (TJC), will assume the position of Provost and Vice President of Instruction at Del Mar College in the spring semester. Previously, he served for two years as the Dean of Arts and Letters at Morton College, a community college in Cicero, Illinois. read more

Catch my appearance on The DMC Upside, a TV news magazine hosted by DMC Radio/TV students Janayn Evans and Carlos Garanzuay. Repeating every Sunday, Wednesday and Friday at 7pm on Time Warner and Grande Cable channel 19, the program is aimed at Del Mar College students and the local community, highlighting College news and events.
