The Detex ECL-230X-TDB, Maximum Security Panic Bar withstands 10,000 pounds of pull force
ECL-230X-TDB (Top Bolt, Dead Bolt and Bottom Bolt)
Detex introduces a maximum security, code compliant, alarmed, 3 point dead bolt, panic device. The ECL-230X-TDB has 3 large dead bolts designed for maximum holding force, a photo-luminescent sign, a 100 decibel alarm and a durable ramped end cap. For maximum, 6 locking points per door specify: ECL-230X-TDB-DX3.
Initial testing is proving the deadbolts are built to withstand thousands of pounds of pull force. Each bolt has been tested individually.
 Top bolt - ¾" throw with 5/8" engagement - Tested and held to 3000 lbs. of pull force
Bottom bolt - ¾" throw with 5/8" engagement - Tested and held to 2000 lbs. of pull force
Side Deadbolt - 1" throw with ¾" engagement - Tested and held to 3000+ lbs. of pull force
Preliminary Pull-Force testing on an entire ECL-230X-TDB device kept the door locked even with 10,000 pounds of pull force

Tech Tip
Door closers control the door, insuring the door opens and closes, typically working together with a lock or latch to secure the door. Far too often, hinge bind, unadjusted door closers or improperly hung doors can cause the door to remain slightly open when at rest, leaving a door unsecure. In this case, the user typically has to pull on the door, to secure it, yet most panic bars do not provide a handle for this purpose. When the user resorts to pulling on the lock or uses the key as the handle, expensive repairs usually follow.
