Join us for a dynamic presentation by Michael Emery on Pennsylvania German Architecture. This program explores the various types of houses Pennsylvania Germans built from the mid 18th century to the mid 19th century using a combination of current & historic photos as well as drawings of details and floorplans. Attendees will also learn about the materials used and interior decorations. If you enjoyed Michael's Gravestone Lecture in the fall, you won't want to miss this program!
 

 

Presenter Michael Emery, holds a B.A. in History from Penn State University and has been on the Landis Valley Museum Staff since 2005. Since 1997 he has worked for the PHMC interpreting Pennsylvania German life at the Conrad Weiser and Daniel Boone Homesteads. Michael has extensive family in southeastern Pennsylvania and was raised in the farming community of Honey Brook Township, Chester County.

 
The cost for the lecture is $8 for SGHA Members and $12 for non-members. Due to limited seating, advance registration is required. (Visit our Membership Page to learn about SGHA Memberships). Light refreshments will be served.
