Join our first-ever College For Kids (CFK) "Kick Off" scheduled for this Saturday, June 6, at the Saddleback College Swimming Pool. Activities consist of registration for CFK and Aquatics classes, raffles, information booths, and fun for the whole family! The "Kick Off" will take place during our regularly scheduled Open Recreation Swim time from 1 PM - 3 PM. Swimming during this time is FREE, and lifeguards are available. Note: Event is on a "First Come First Serve" basis. All responsible persons (18 years of age or older) must sign a liability waiver and remain on pool deck while attending the event. No drop-offs are permitted.
For those of you who are not familiar with our College For Kids Program: This unique Program was developed to allow children ages 7 - 14 the exciting chance to experience real college life. Children have the opportunity to develop their own individualized class schedules from a wide range of offerings such as art, writing, reading, sports, theatre, foreign language, math, computers, science, and study skills. Classes are offered in two-week blocks, Monday through Thursday, beginning June 22 through July 30. Junior Gaucho Fun Club
Enhance your child's College For Kids experience by enrolling him/her in the Junior Gaucho Fun Club. Designed just for children, participants will enjoy indoor and outdoor activities, including board games, crafts, sports, and other fantastic organized activities in our aftercare program.
For Friday morning, afternoon, or all day fun, enroll your child(ren) in our Junior Gaucho Friday Fun Club. They will enjoy a half-day or full day of exciting activies such as indoor and outdoor games, sports, movies, art projects, and much more. Bring: A backpack with a morning snack, a sack lunch, a visor, and sun block. Sneakers should be worn at all times (no sandals or flip-flops). To learn more click here. |
Baseball Skills Clinics
The Saddleback College Gaucho baseball team welcomes boys and girls who want to have fun and improve their baseball skills. These clinics will help build self-confidence and develop performance skills. Players are grouped by age and ability. We will focus on hitting, bunting, pitching, and fielding. Bring a water bottle, glove, bat, and batting helmet.

Beginning Violin
No previous experience is required. This class is perfect for beginning violinists and for improving violin-playing skills for school orchestra. Students will learn to read music in a fun and nurturing environment, with individual attention and group playing fun. There will be a recital the last day of class. | Career Technology Exploration
This class is designed to help participants navigate the various career assessments available for middle school students. Students will learn life-long career exploration skills and develop an education plan that can be used in conjunction with their school's guidance counselor. It's never too early to begin thinking about tomorrow.

| Cheerleading Skills Clinics
Have your child(ren) join our experienced cheerleading staff for two weeks of fun and instruction. Children will learn all aspects of cheerleading, including dance steps, basic moves, and routines to music. Bring a water bottle and wear athletic shoes.

Developmental Reading
This class is designed for students who need help in improving reading skills. Participants will read high-interest works together in an encouraging and supportive class. They also will build vocabulary, comprehension skills, and reading strategies that will make reading FUN! Light homework.

Digital Scrapbooking For Youth
This class has it all: creative writing, digital photography, desktop publishing, keyboarding, and working with the Internet all rolled into one. Working online in a computer lab, students will learn how to upload their photographs or artwork (must be in digital format) into a personal publishing website where they will select a theme and plan their personal memory storybooks which will be professionally published in a library-bound book. This class is perfect for students creating books for class/club tours or trips (i.e., Washington D.C., choir tours, sports events, etc.)

Keyboarding On Personal Computers
This hands-on workshop will introduce your child(ren) to touch typing using the computer. Students will learn to type the fun, fast, easy way! Students must attend the first class meeting.

Living History
John Uhlman brings history alive for students in a fun and exciting way through re-enactment, films, and hands-on history. As we review our exciting past, we will consider the food, dress, technology, government, and many interesting and rarely known facts that make our history so fascinating. This is "not your normal" history class. Discover how our past shapes the present.

Soccer Skills Clinics
Children will join our experienced soccer coaches for skill building and fun drills, play, and scrimmages. Emphasis is on developing the fundamentals of passing, dribbling, and kicking, as well as strategy and team play. Bring a water bottle, shin guards, and soccer ball.

Spanish For Pre-Schoolers
This is a unique learning experience designed for young children 3 to 5 years old. The class combines TPR (Total Physical Response) activities, music, movement, and hands-on arts and crafts. This effective method introduces youngsters to a second language the same way they learn their native tongue -- by experiencing it.

Youth Aquatics
In addition to the College For Kids Program, Saddleback College is celebrating its 31st season of swim lessons for children. Lessons are available in Parent & Me (3-36 months); Tiny Tot (3-4 years); Beginners, Advanced Beginners, Intermediate, and Competitive Swim (5 years and older); and a variety of specialized programs, including Beginning Springboard Diving, Personalized Springboard Diving, and Junior Lifeguard Conditioning. PARKING: Parking regulations are in effect 24-hours a day, seven-days a week.
EXCEPTIONS FOR COLLEGE FOR KIDS - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
We have made special arrangements with our Campus Police Department to provide FREE parking in STUDENT SPACES in the areas and times indicated below. Free parking is a courtesy service during the summer strictly for Community Education programs. Participants/Presenters are responsible for any parking or traffic tickets received if you park in a lot at any time that is not authorized and stated. Free parking is available in STUDENT SPACES (white-lined spots) ONLY. AQUATICS (5/26 - 8/13): Free parking is available in Lot 4 (in front of the pool) or Lot 7, Monday - Thursday from 12Noon - 7pm and on Saturday from 8:00am - to 3:00pm . COLLEGE FOR KIDS (6/22 - 7/31): Free parking is available in Lots 1, 4A (pick up and drop off only), and 5A, Monday - Friday from 8:30am - 5:00pm and on Saturdays (5/30 - 8/8) from 9:00am - 11:00am.
