September Exhibits GRAND HALL
Bill Griffin: Landscape Photography
"For the longest time I did not consider my passion for image making to be a form of artistic expression. I spent a number of years searching for things enjoying the mechanical aspects of photography and a love for the outdoors," claims photographer Bill Griffin.
"Perhaps as far back as 1988 and some 10 years after starting, I began to notice that I was drawn visually to certain objects, themes or elements routinely and a style began to emerge. Edward Weston called this awareness "Flame Of Recognition" and Jay Maisel calls it "Observing Yourself As An Observer". I was creating something rather than recording. This is when I began to realize that I have a unique vision and could finally call it art," says Griffin.

"This portfolio is composed exclusively from digital capture which began for me in 2003. This represents my third exhibition and is the first color portfolio I have ever shown. A lot of preparation, travel and execution goes into finding a few good images each year. As a result, I intend to offer limited quantities of each print which are indicated on each image."
Bill Griffin's distinguished photography will be on display right here at the CAC through the end of September. His extraordinary works and ability to capture moments like the one above will make you think twice before you ever leave your camera at home again. Don't miss out on seeing this beautiful photography!
FARMERS NATIONAL BANK GALLERY Kentucky Professional Photographers Association (KPPA): Portrait Photography
We are delighted that the members of the Kentucky Professional Photographers Association (KPPA) are displaying their unique portrait photography with us through September!
Almost everyone knows how to use a camera-you simply point and shoot. It's so easy that children can even master those two steps, but when it comes to photography as an art form, leave it to the professionals like the members of KPPA. Having mastered techniques beyond proficiency, these artists capture the raw beauty of each individual beyond the everyday glance. This is your chance to see portrait photography at its best, and you will find that photography is not just as straightforward as clicking and shooting. The KPPA members capture the depth and stunning emotion within their subjects, leaving the audience with much more to be desired. The Community Arts Center is proud to be the home to such refreshing professional and outstanding photography from across the state through the end of September. |
