issues, ideas and insights affecting the 15,000 at-risk children and families we serve every year
A Window on Our Programs:
Delinquency Prevention

O's Story:
"The Family Court referred O. and family for therapy at The Child Center's Delinquency Prevention Program, part of our Hale (Holding Adolescents in Loving Environments) Project, after O., 17, was arrested for stealing at the store where he worked. Among the 15,000 children we serve every year there are many stories like O.'s. These kids, mostly adolescents, face a critical juncture:  continue as is and drift toward ever more serious criminal activity, foster care or jail--all of which negatively impact the life trajectory forever--or come in contact with someone who cares enough to shake them up and move them toward a successful and fulfilling life.  I am proud to say that the dedicated and caring staff of The Child Center makes this kind of positive difference in kids' lives every single day. (read more)

"With less funding from foundations and government programs, people are finding themselves without the support they need to turn their lives around. We have to step up and keep families moving forward.  As much as we may be hurting, it's nothing compared to our clients."
