Launching 2012!
It's hard to believe that we're in the second week of 2012 already! Our move "home" from our holiday shop as well as "taking inventory" has necessitated a bit of a delay in publishing this month's newsletter. In the process we've decided that we're giving ourselves "permission" to publish our monthly newsletter a bit later than the first of each month.
You may be getting this newsletter for the first time - probably because you signed up when you visited our Kingdom Ventures International Marketplace 2011 shop. We hope you'll find it to be informative and inspirational - and that you'll join us on the ad-venture!
If you're a long-time reader, you might notice that our left-side banner is a bit shorter. Over the holidays we sold the remainder of our mousepads and coasters from Turkey. We have a (very) few plates left. Unfortunately, our contacts in Turkey have "moved on" and we are no longer able to source the products that we'd been selling.
Looking forward to "making a difference" together in 2012 as we travel this Kingdom Ventures journey!

 All hands on deck! Regardless of how long you have been connected with us, we need your help! In our October newsletter, we mentioned about our change in strategy for 2012. As you know, KVI wholesales our products across the US in order to move more product and thus have greater economic impact for our suppliers.
But the USA is a B-I-G country!

Anti-Trafficking Month in U.S.
On December 30th, President Obama issued a proclamation declaring January 2012 as National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month. The proclamation reads, in part,
"Human trafficking endangers the lives of millions of people around the world, and it is a crime that knows no borders. Trafficking networks operate both domestically and transnationally, and although abuses disproportionally affect women and girls, the victims of this ongoing global tragedy are men, women, and children of all ages. Around the world, we are monitoring the progress of governments in combating trafficking while supporting programs aimed at its eradication. From forced labor and debt bondage to forced commercial sexual exploitation and involuntary domestic servitude, human trafficking leaves no country untouched. With this knowledge, we rededicate ourselves to forging robust international partnerships that strengthen global anti-trafficking efforts, and to confronting traffickers here at home."

~ Definition & Its Impact ~
 What is human trafficking?
Trafficking in persons is modern-day slavery, involving victims who are forced, defrauded or coerced into labor or sexual exploitation. Annually, about 600,000 to 800,000 people-mostly women and children-are trafficked across US national borders, which does not count millions trafficked within their own countries. People are snared into trafficking by many means. In some cases, physical force is used. In other cases, false promises are made regarding job opportunities or marriages in foreign countries to entrap victims.
What impact does human trafficking have on the world?
Human trafficking is a multi-dimensional threat. It deprives people of their human rights and freedoms, it is a global health risk, and it fuels the growth of organized crime. Human trafficking has a devastating impact on individual victims, who often suffer physical and emotional abuse, rape, threats against self and family, passport theft, and even death. But the impact of human trafficking goes beyond individual victims; it undermines the health, safety and security of all nations it touches.

Something New @ KVI!
 We've added a "Clearance" section to our website. What can you expect to see there? Our initial offerings are some of our zipped totes that are "Factory Seconds". These are bags that are "good" products, but don't meet our quality standards. Each listing tells WHY the product is in clearance and the products are heavily discounted - typically below wholesale.
They're sold "as-is" with no returns accepted, but if you want a great deal, this is the place to look! And look frequently, because we'll be adding other items over time. Some will be "factory seconds", some will be close-outs, and some will be over-stocks, but ALL will be great deals!
(And please be assured that while YOU, the customer, are getting a great deal, it is NOT at the expense of our suppliers. They have already been paid in full for their products!)
