Autumn's Arrival
The change of the seasons is a time of forward movement and ushers in a time of preparation. In the physical, as we move from summer to autumn, we do those physical activities that prepare our homes for this next season. Those entail (sadly) closing the pool, multiple mowings of the lush lawn, raking those autumn leaves, and storing the deck furniture. As we transition to living indoors, we close and wash the windows, (reluctantly) turn on the furnace, bake aromatic goodies in the oven, and gather the furniture around the fireplace!
At KVI there are seasonal changes to be made too! Our outdoor retail shows have ended. Now we are deeply submerged in preparation of the launch of our KVI International Marketplace 2011 on November 1st. There are orders arriving, shipments to track and unpack (similar to an early Christmas for me!), promotional announcements to deliver, advertisements to approve, structural foundations to put in place, creativity to be unleashed.....the list seems endless, but the excitement is building!!!!!
This month's newsletter delivers The Details about our International Marketplace as well as where you can find KVI "On the Move" this October and November. Additionally we are sharing about some strategy adjustments @ KVI. In ALL of these situations, we invite YOU to become personally involved.
Working TOGETHER we CAN "make a difference" in the lives of artisans in marginalized people groups world-wide! Come along with us in this life-changing journey! It IS all about the people!

The Location Unveiled!
Last month we hinted at The Location of our KVI International Marketplace 2011. A number of you shared your guesses and TWO of you were actually correct! Congrats to Jane Ahrens who was the first one with the correct answer and who will be stopping by our shop in early November to claim her prize!
And NOW for the unveiling of The Location: THIS year you will discover the KVI International Marketplace in the Erie Commons Plaza @ 2542 Ridgeway Ave 14626. Our shop will be located between DiBella's Subs and Alfred Angelo Bridal. Look for the red GIFTS sign above the shop AND our KVI signage in our shop windows. For those of you who prefer maps and pictures, click the icon to find us on Yelp. 
This year our shop has an expanded run from:
Tuesday November 1st thru Friday December 30th
During November:
Mondays thru Saturdays from 10:00am ~ 6:00pm
(Closed Thanksgiving Day)
During December:
Mondays thru Saturdays from 10:00am ~ 6:00pm
Sundays from 1:00pm ~ 6:00pm
(Closed Christmas Day)
We will be serving complimentary Joe Bean Fair Trade coffee daily!
Make plans to visit our holiday location and shop for Fair Trade products that "Make a Difference" for your gift-giving needs. Our suppliers have been quite busy preparing THEIR creations for exhibition and purchase! AND this year we have connected with other Fair Trade wholesale suppliers to offer additional Fair Trade products from a few other countries ~ exclusively at our shop location! Shipments are arriving weekly throughout October in anticipation of our International Marketplace 2011!

Get Involved!
Together We CAN Make a Difference
As we mentioned above, KVI is in the midst of a strategic shift. For the past several years we've done as many as five "trade shows" per year for the general Gift trade. While we've made many good connections, unfortunately in the current economic climate, the costs incurred to do these shows aren't covered by the sales they generate. So we've decided to take a different tack that will involve more advertising via both print and online media, as well as relying more heavily on referrals to grow our customer base. And this gives YOU an opportunity to help us make that difference in the lives of our suppliers. How, you ask? Here are several ways:
- Obviously, we would encourage you to consider KVI when you do your holiday shopping. We're ALL being much more cautious in how we spend our money, so why not give gifts that will not only delight the recipients, but also make a difference for the people who produce them? (Of course, as our loyal readers, we hope you're already planning on doing this!)
- If there's a KVI product (or two) you really love, write a review on our site. Potential customers appreciate knowing what others think about products they are considering!
- Refer others to us! If you like what we offer and what we're doing, tell your friends! Forward our newsletter (link just to the left of this article). Or share a link. And of course direct (even accompany!) people to our "International Marketplace" in November and December!
- Like us on Facebook
- Perhaps most importantly, if there are stores in your area (or in a location where you have visited) that you think would be "perfect" for our products, would you send us an email and tell us about them. In order for us to deliver Fair Trade products with impactful "back stories" throughout our vast country, we need YOUR help to reach beyond our current set of customers. Join with us in growing our ability to "make a difference" in the lives of our suppliers.
