The (ad)Venture August 2010
|
Greetings!
Rebecca & Glenn Fadner |
...and the livin' is easy... (not!)
This month's (ad)Venture will be somewhat brief but it is not because we are on vacation! In the 31 days between Tuesday July 27 and Thursday August 26 we will exhibiting three of our lines at two West Coast trade shows. Squeezed in between these two shows, we'll "sandwich in" a visit to our daughter Diana & her family in Nevada, prepping & shipping wholesale orders from home, and vendoring @ the Riesling Festival in Canandaigua on August 14-15!!
So while y'all are enjoying a "cold one" on the back deck, we're piling on the frequent flier miles. Nevertheless, we DO want to try to stay in contact!

Quote of the month
"So the first thing you need to do about conflict is to prevent it, and the best way of preventing it is by dealing with the question of poverty."
~ James Wolfensohn, World Bank president, 1995-2005

Our Booth in San Francisco |
It's what we do!
Many of you know us only from our "retail shows", our website, or our eBay store. If that's all you know about KVI, then it's time we "fill you in" on the rest of Kingdom Ventures.
Around 2/3 of our business is wholesale, meaning we supply products to stores across the US to sell to THEIR customers. By doing this, we are able to purchase (and sell) greater quantities of product, thus bringing a greater benefit to the suppliers who have the capacity to supply those higher volumes.
Currently we exhibit at 5 trade shows each year: two each in San Francisco and Seattle, and one in Boston. We offer attendees our lines from STOPstart (Cambodia), Alisim Glass (Kenya), and Fuente de Pino (Nicaragua). Check out our Facebook page for some pictures of the current San Francisco show. |
Every year since the launching of Kingdom Ventures in 2005, we have hosted an Open House around the Holiday season. With the closing of our shop on Arnett Blvd in December 2009, we speculated about moving the KVI Open House back to our home, which would now be woefully too small for The Event. We even entertained simply having to cancel it for 2010.
BUT WAIT! Instead of "downsizing", we're "SUPERsizing" our Open House. How about an entire MONTH of KVI Open House?
We have just secured some retail space on the west side of Rochester for the month of November. Where, you may ask? Well, here is a hint ~ it's in Gates! BUT we wouldn't want to share EVERYTHING just yet! Stay tuned! More details to come! So.....WATCH THIS SPACE for the details about the location in NEXT month's edition of The (ad)Venture! |
