The (ad)Venture January 2010
|
Greetings!
First of all, please accept our apologies for sending this January newsletter a bit early. It is not our intent to "barrage" you all with email during this holiday season. However, there is an important announcement that we truly felt warranted sending an early (and brief) newsletter.
We recognize that you are busy with festivities, friends and family, so we are simply going to wish you a blessed Christmas holiday season, a joyous celebration of the New Year's arrival, and get right to our announcement. We'll return with our "regular" newsletter, survey results, etc. in our February edition.

Kingdom Ventures
Shop @ The Arnett to close
That's the big news. After much discussion we recently made the difficult decision to close our retail shop. Our final day at The Arnett will be Christmas Eve 2009. (Shop hours for these remaining days are located in the side bar. We invite you to stop in at our shop to enjoy a complimentary cup of Joe Bean Fair trade coffee with us!) The major tipping point in our decision was the recent closing of the restaurant that was the remaining other business co-located in the building called The Arnett. Without the traffic that the restaurant (and other businesses formerly located within the facility) generated, it is no longer viable for us to continue to operate our KVI shop. Since business from this location accounted for only about 10% of our total sales, we believe our time is better devoted to our web and wholesale business activities.
For those in the Rochester area, we can honestly say that we will miss terribly those opportunities we've had to meet with you in our shop. Furthermore, we have thoroughly enjoyed being members of this wonderful 19th Ward community and will miss the camaraderie with our neighbors. We at Kingdom Ventures WILL continue to do "events" throughout the Greater Rochester community, primarily during the warmer weather as we have in the past. Visit "KVI On the Move" portion of our newsletters or our website to discover this listing of events.
For those of you who are "remote", this WILL have a impact for you as well, which we HOPE will be positive. You can expect to see a lot more "content" on the site as Rebecca looks to create "The KVI Experience" to the extent the Internet will allow. You can also expect to see more products listed as we discover ways to more effectively promote the limited-quantity products that we formerly sold only in our shop.
We've attached links about our recent announcement via email that was distributed to the 19th Ward neighborhood of which we are a part, as well as our final ad placed in the local community Update 19 newsletter. Both of these will assist to further explain our reasonings and future plans.
