J'Neal McCoy, Secretary to the Vice Chancellor for Administrative Services
Describe what you do at OTC in 50 words or less.
I prepare and maintain Service Agreements, Certificates of Insurance, and related documents for contractors and service providers that work with OTC. I maintain all property & casualty insurance and worker's compensation insurance for OTC. I also provide administrative support to Administrative Services.
How long have you been at OTC, and where were you immediately prior?
I started at OTC on August 16th 2010. I was the Marketing Assistant at Battlefield Mall for the five years previous.
What do you hope to accomplish in your position or department in the coming year?
I hope to keep up! We have a lot going on in our department. Administrative Services is currently finishing up two major construction projects; Lebanon and ICW Expansion. The Table Rock Campus site work will begin in the fall, and we are starting the design process for a new site and building in Waynesville. The coming year will be very busy!
What is your favorite thing about working at OTC?
The people are great. When the tornado hit Joplin, I had the privilege of coordinating the volunteers. It was amazing how many employees and students donated their time to help.
What is your favorite thing about living and working in the Ozarks?
I have lived in this area my whole life. The people here are incredible!
Tell us about one person who had a significant impact on your professional life or career choice.
Mike Shay, the owner of the local Hardee's Franchise, gave me the job opportunity to provide local marketing to 15 stores in Southwest Missouri while allowing me time during the day to finish my last year of college. That position and education gave me the tools to advance my career.

If you were to write a book, what would it be about?
Probably budgeting, I am one of the weird people that actually like balancing my checking account and paying bills.

"She Lets Me In," by Big Smith, "Free Fallin," by Tom Petty, and "Silver Springs," by Stevie Nicks.
