Gov. Jay Nixon made his first visit to the OTC Richwood Valley Campus on March 15, to announce a $1.1 million Training for Tomorrow grant that the college will use to develop and expand programs. OTC will use the funds to develop new and expand current programs in growing industry clusters in the region, including health care, technology, manufacturing and commercial truck-driving.
"We're very proud of the high-quality education we offer students in a great number of fields here at OTC," said Hal Higdon, president of Ozarks Technical Community College. "In recent semesters, we've seen our enrollment skyrocket, and we simply don't have the capacity to meet the demand from potential students. Training for Tomorrow will help us add new programs in high-demand fields and expand several existing programs. This will give more students the opportunity to learn the skills they need to succeed in the careers of tomorrow."
OTC will utilize the funds to further develop offerings in the Allied Health Care, Information Technology, Green Technology, Advance Manufacturing, Agricultural and Transportation Industries. You can learn more about the impact the Training for Tomorrow grant will have for students by watching the
