Message from the President

Dr. HigdonIt has been a great month in the history of the College. The formal announcement of the $2.6 million Lebanon Gift was an event that I will long remember. The atrium was filled with people excited about the College and our future. The event was well planned, well executed and received a great deal of notice all over our area and beyond.   Watch the video to see the full announcement and learn more about The Casey family.

It is hard to believe how far our Foundation has come in the past four years. Giving has grown by leaps and bounds and our capital campaign now sits just over $6.5 million in gifts and pledges. The success of our foundation capital campaign would not be possible without the commitment of the College friends and family. Thanks to each of you for your support of the College and the capital campaign. The gifts received for allied health, student support programs, scholarships and the Center for Workforce Development will pay dividends for our students and our communities for many years to come.

As always, please feel free to call, write, email or come by for a visit when you have a chance.

Legislative Updates

The legislature is ramping up and we are beginning to see pieces of legislation that could affect comunity colleges.  Activity should pick up in the coming weeks. The January state tax collections were down over 20%, which does not bode well for the next year's budget. Tax collections for February, March and April will be closely watched by state leadership as they craft the FY 2011 budget.
