February's Featured Rescue
Maurice

MauriceMaurice is a handsome adult with a lot of love to give.  He is great with other dogs, cats and children.  He is completely crate trained and knows all of the basic commands.  Maurice loves to play ball and run in his foster mom's backyard.  He reminds his foster family of a teenager who hasn't grown into his feet or legs yet.  So clumsy!  Please let Maurice into your heart and you will not be disappointed!  He has had a second chance at life and is loving it!
If you are interested in adopting Maurice, please email us at
gatewaypetguardians@yahoo.com for an adoption application.

February is GPG Art Month!
Kung Foo Chicken fundraiser and Mixed Breed Art Auction!

Throughout the month of February, Kung Fu Chicken will have artwork on display at Urban Eats Cafe.  Gateway Pet Guardians will get 10% of all sales for items marked "ANIMAL RESCUE."  Urban Eats will host a reception for Kung Fu Chicken and Gateway Pet Guardians on February 21 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.  The reception will feature relaxed music by mmmelt.
Kung Fu Chicken is an interdisciplinary studio and we have work in a variety of sizes that can fill any space with joy. Carmelita Nuņez makes beautifully crafted functional ceramics, from small single serving cups to large platters. Daniel Shown is a mixed media painter and programmer whose works vary in size from 5"x5" to 4'x8'. Together they create installations that range from hip and casual boutiques to fully immersive art environments.

Urban Eats Cafe (http://www.urbaneatscafe.com/) is a casual but cool neighborhood space in South Saint Louis, serving a select few tasty, healthy foods with an ethnic twist; made fast, and customized to your individual taste & pocketbook.  It is also a social enterprise dedicated to urban revitalization, healthy living and community.  Urban Eats Cafe is located at 3301 Meramec Ave., at the corner of Meramec and Virginia, 314-558-7580.

Our Shelter is Within Reach!
Help homeless animals by donating to Gateway Pet Guardians.
In order to make a huge impact on the homeless animal population, we need a shelter to temporarily house animals until we can place them in a foster home.  Our goal is $100,000.
Please help us reach this goal by the end of 2010!
Gateway Pet Guardians is a 501c3 organization.
